Weihai Emergency Operations Centre Wins 2010 China City Information Application Award with Intergraph Public Safety and Security Solutions

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Dec. 2, 2010 – Weihai Municipal Government has won the 2010 China City Information Application Award for its implementation of the Intergraph® Incident Management solution for its emergency operations centre (EOC) at the recent 2010 China Development Forum on City Informatisation held in Suzhou, China. This premier event was hosted by the China Information Association and Jiangsu Province Information Society.

The Weihai EOC model triggered great interest with the judging panel of industry experts and was recognised as one of the more successful cases of emergency response management in China. The judges awarded Weihai EOC with the 2010 China City Information Application Award for its innovative Intergraph emergency command information system, which utilises control theory principles and methods, and the inclusion of contingency plans into the system design. The judges also acknowledged the system’s integration of various data sources for efficient information sharing across various departments, which is cost-effective and enhances the decision-making process to meet both emergency command and business needs.

Weihai EOC selected Intergraph’s Incident Management solution as it required an advanced emergency platform to support its emergency system. Through the implementation of Intergraph’s computer-aided dispatch (CAD) application, Weihai EOC has achieved faster response times with access to timely and accurate data to make informed decisions. The Intergraph solution enables Weihai EOC to manage and command all emergency departments with greater effectiveness and efficiency.

Mr. Ma Long, Vice President of Weihai Economic and Information Technology Commission, said, “We believe that Intergraph has the best products with the most advanced technology in the world and can meet our expanding needs. As Weihai city continues to grow, we need to ensure the safety of our citizens and we have full confidence in Intergraph to continue delivering the results that we want to achieve.”
