Emerging Green Conference Keynotes and Preliminary Program Announced

PORTLAND, Oregon USA – 10 June, 2015 – The Green Electronics Council today announced five keynote speakers who will present at the Emerging Green Conference from 22-24 September, 2015. The organization also unveiled the preliminary Conference program. Leaders from HP, Facebook and major electronics recycler ERI, as well as a best-selling author, will share thought-provoking ideas that build upon the Conference’s theme of “electronics in a circular economy.” Additional speakers will be made public closer to the Conference date.

The Green Electronics Council’s Emerging Green Conference will explore sustainability issues throughout the lifecycle of electronics. This theme will be echoed by panelists, experts and plenary sessions during the three-day program. The keynote speakers, along with their presentation subjects, are shown below.

  • Bill Weihl, Facebook Director of Sustainability, will discuss the environmental considerations for sustainable infrastructure at scale
  • Andrew Winston, author of the best-selling books Green to Gold and The Big Pivot, will speak about the opportunities available to electronics companies with more sustainable products in an age of climate change, material scarcity, and 4 billion cell phones
  • Chandrakant D. Patel, HP Senior Fellow and Chief Engineer, and Judy Glazer, HP Vice President of Social & Environmental Responsibility – Printing and Personal Systems, will co-present on advances in the sustainability of electronic products and HP’s perspective on electronics in a circular economy
  • John Shegerian, President/CEO of Electronic Recyclers International, Inc., will share his thoughts on electronics in a circular economy from the perspective of a leading U.S. electronics recycler
