Gionee To Launch New Flagship Smartphones M5 and E8
BEIJING, June 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Gionee, a leading global provider of mobile devices, announced its latest smartphones Marathon M5 and Elife E8 in Beijing on June 10th .
“The battery problem has been key for most mobile phone users for a long time yet there is no perfect solution. Gionee is willing to work on it and now we have M5,” said William Lu , the president of Gionee at the beginning of the launch event. M5 packs a huge 6,020 mAh battery, which is a great improvement over the 5,000 mAh battery in the M3. Gionee’s battery improvements provide the phone up to four-day battery life. M5 has a smart power consumption system especially under extreme mode; it can standby for up to 62 hours even there is only 5% of power left. And M5 can be charged in a short time, and it’s also capable of reverse charging — it can be used as a power bank to charge two cellphones at the same time.
Lu also released Gionee’s new flagship smartphone E8. One of the biggest highlights is its 23.7 MP rear camera, which will be able to produce photographs up to 100 Mpxl in resolution. And it is the first Android smartphone to offer lossless zoom. Gionee aims to make it the best camera phone in the market.
The National Geographic contributing photographer Fritz Hoffmann attended the event too. He showed some great photographs which were taken by E8 and he announced that he is quite satisfied with its camera. Hoffman will keep using E8 to take more photographs and share them with Gionee in the following years.
Gionee also announced cooperation with WeBank to launch Gionee Wallet. They will try to build a reliable vertical ecosystem based on the personal mobile devices.
Both the new smartphones will be released in different countries and areas later.
