Zentera Mentioned in Gartner’s “Magic Quadrant for Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems” Report

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Zentera Systems, Inc., the leader in software-defined perimeters for hybrid computing environments, today announced Zentera’s citation in the Gartner report, “Magic Quadrant for Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems” authored by analysts Craig Lawson and Claudio Neiva. As the report notes, “By year-end 2020, 70% of new stand-alone intrusion detection and prevention system (IDPS) placements will be cloud-based (public or private) or deployed for internal use cases, rather than the traditional placement behind a firewall,” and further states that “security and risk management leaders should seek innovation in advanced analytics and public cloud support.”*

According to the report, “Organizations are adopting public cloud IaaS for their compute. Traditional firewall vendors are not showing signs of traction due to software-defined networking (SDN) and microsegmentation; but, primarily, IaaS providers are delivering basic routing, network address translation (NAT) and segmentation as part of their offerings for free or little cost. IDPS still has relevance here, as there is no sign of these providers delivering more advanced deep packet inspection (DPI) security capabilities.”*

“We are pleased to be mentioned in a Magic Quadrant report for what we believe is our ability to help IDPS companies operate in the public cloud,” said Jaushin Lee, Zentera’s CEO. “We are even more pleased to see that our partner, McAfee, is leading the IDPS market with its support for cloud deployments, from our perspective. IDPS is just one significant growth opportunity for Zentera; our CoIP Enclave™ solution is being deployed globally for Application Networking, GDPR compliance, and security orchestration across hybrid environments, as well as protecting some of the world’s most security-sensitive intellectual property.”

As noted in Gartner’s “Cool Vendors in Cloud Security, 2017” report by Jay Heiser, Greg Young, Steve Riley, Neil MacDonald, “CoIP supports the creation of secure enclaves of people and devices across hybrid clouds, delivering a software-defined perimeter.”** With CoIP Enclave, enterprises can protect applications and workloads regardless of their physical location. Furthermore, the product offers comprehensive network security without interfering with existing infrastructure and provides unified security management across multiple domains. Zentera’s partners can utilize APIs to integrate into network services such as IDPS, enabling them to operate across multiple clouds such as AWS, Azure, Google and Oracle.
