Viva calls on Squire Technologies’ Signalling Gateway solution for number portability
Dorchester, UK, 15th July 2014. Squire Technologies, the signalling specialists to the telecoms industry, today announced that Viva, a leading mobile operator in the Dominican Republic and a subsidiary of Trilogy International Partners LLC, has deployed its Signalling Gateway solution, the SVI_SG to support number portability for SMS services with integrated signalling conversion.
As a leading mobile network operator, Viva has to support interconnection with other networks and enable number portability for its subscribers across its range of services. The SVI_SG solution performs translation between the MAP and IS41 signalling used in GSM and CDMA based networks respectively. This functionality means that messages can be successfully routed from any destination to any required end-point and that number portability can be fully implemented.
“The Squire Technologies’ solution was first deployed in 2008. Since then, our network has grown and our traffic capacity has expanded. The solution has grown with us, delivering the complex functionality we need while providing outstanding performance,” commented Jose Hernandez, Core Operations Manager at Viva. “It’s right at the heart of our network – and the performance levels enable us to provide the exceptional service that our customers expect.”
“Number portability is a critical function of any mobile network. It must be implemented with a completely robust solution in order to ensure both regulatory compliance and customer satisfaction. We’re proud that our platform has given flawless, sustained performance for six years and we are continuing to invest in its evolution,” said Zacchary Couldrick, Sales Manager at Squire Technologies. “Any mobile network operator looking to consolidate its network assets while securing a clear migration path to an NGN core should consider the benefits of working with our team.”
