Certes Networks Named “Cool Vendor” in Asia Pacific by Leading Analyst Firm

Pittsburgh, PA, May 30, 2012 – Certes Networks, the leading innovator of scalable network and cloud encryption solutions, today announced its inclusion in the recent Gartner, Inc. report, “Cool Vendors in Asia Pacific, 2012”, highlighting companies that offer innovative cloud based approaches to security, Gartner focuses its “Cool Vendor” research on companies that offers technologies or solutions that are innovative and provide an impactful business tool.
This announcement comes on the heels of Certes Networks’ launch of its Virtual Certes Enforcement Point (vCEP), a virtual appliance that allows organizations to protect sensitive network traffic among virtual servers and between clouds without using tunnels. The vCEP appliance encrypts network traffic from Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) cloud infrastructures to data centers across the WAN, as well as from server to server within the cloud.

According to the Cloud Security Alliance’s “Security Guidance for Critical Areas of Focus in Cloud Computing V3.0”, organizations should “encrypt all sensitive data moving to or within the cloud at the network layer [for] all service and deployment models.” The report further guides organizations to “maintain their own keys or use a trusted cryptographic service from a source that currently maintains such a service.” Certes Networks solutions allow organizations to secure all of their traffic over any infrastructure, including IaaS clouds with Certes TrustNet Manager, which keeps organizations in control of their own policies and keys even as the data traverses public or shared networks.
