First Ever Emerging Market Experience Exchange at Broadband-IP&TV Asia
London, 19 April 2012 – Broadband-IP&TV Asia today announces that a brand new pre-event focus day will take place on Monday 14 May, concentrating on exploring the opportunities and experiences of emerging markets and new network operators in Asia. The Emerging Market Experience Exchange will enable important industry players in the region to share their knowledge and address the increasingly diversifying broadband and media markets in Asia.
Tony Brown, Senior Analyst at Informa Telecoms & Media, is set to Chair the focus session. He says: “The Asia Pacific region contains some of the most exciting emerging broadband markets in the world, with sub-continental markets like India, Pakistan and Bangladesh containing huge untapped growth potential. South East Asian territories, including Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam present the same opportunities. The Emerging Market Experience Exchange will provide the perfect platform for in depth and targeted discussion.”
Brown will also present on successful business models for emerging players in the region, including the growth opportunities in the emerging markets, technology choices, building new revenue streams and evaluating existing business models.
James Angelone, CEO of Jalur Lebar Nasional Sdn. Bhd. (Jalenas), will kick-start the day by discussing broadband infrastructures – a foundation for socio-economic growth. Unique presentations from senior executives throughout the morning session will address topics such as what’s next for India, creating the optimal mobile broadband experience in a developing market and understanding the business case for migration to fixed (fibre) and mobile (LTE) next generation access.
Project Director at VASC Software and Media Company (a VNPT company), Nguyen Nguyet Phuong, will also give a case study about delivering broadband in Vietnam.
The afternoon session will focus on predictions for future applications enabled by ultra-high speed broadband. This will be followed by a session on delivering broadband in Mongolia, and the opportunities and innovations for mobile and fixed bundling in Thailand. Delivering low ARPU broadband in developing countries, presented by Dileep Agrawal, Chief Executive Officer at WorldLink, will end the focus day.
