Double A Invites the World to turn off lights for Earth Hour 2011
Premium quality paper producer Double A will join with the rest of the world for the third straight year in observing Earth Hour 2011 on March 26, 2011. Earth Hour is a global annual events organized by World Wildlife Fund (WWF) wherein people from around the globe are encourage to turn off their lights for an hour, a collective action that promotes a powerful message that it is time to save the world from global warming.
Double A will go hand in hand with WWF and other participants: companies, families and individuals to participate and raise awareness for global climate and the environment. On Saturday, Double A international branch offices, employees and clients will turn off the lights of all their business facilities to show their support to the campaign.
Earth Hour is a platform for Double A to promote its environmental initiatives which is in line with WWF’s campaign towards achieving a sustainable future. In Thailand, Double A is one of the prime drivers in promoting environmental awareness. The Thai paper producer incorporates environmental sustainable production in myriad ways. To help address the destruction of natural forest and air pollution, Double A has implemented a concept of tree farming called Paper from KHAN-NA (utilization of unused spaces in between rice fields) with the aim of increasing resources such as pulp, raw materials for biomass production without the need to source from natural forest and increasing the number of carbon dioxide absorbers.
In the previous year millions of people took part in the single hour dedicated for the Earth and this year, hope is on the high side to take the results to the next level and make a bigger impact not only in Thailand but the entire world. After this event, Double A employees and all under its management and global participants will start anew in making further steps and bringing out a brand new vision and initiative to take care of the Earth, when the lights turn back on.
