“Nano Micro Biz” Exhibition, previously known as “Micromachine/MEMS”, starts today
The 2013 edition of the leading exhibition in the Japanese nano-micro industry, “Nano Micro Biz”, previously known as “Exhibition Micromachine/MEMS”, opens today. Welcoming 186 exhibitors from 7 countries and regions (Domestic:170, Overseas:16), the show offers a new vision into micro-fabrication technology, devices and solutions.
The fair, founded as “Industrial Micromachine Exhibition” in the 1990’s, has altering constantly, in order to respond to industry’s needs and advancing together with the development of micro processing technology in Japan. In 2013, the fair not only gained a new name, but also expanded its technological focus from MEMS processing, nano and sensor technologies to high-precision processing and microfabrication technologies, maximising the possibilities for technological applications into new fields. In addition, the show strengthened its ability to provide both exhibitors and visitors effective opportunities for further business development, by offering application systems, devices and solutions for a wide range of technologies.
Various eye-opening programmes and seminars, providing insight to developing technologies for business, will be held during the show. Among these programmes, “The 19th International Micromachine/ Nanotech symposium” will provide an interesting glimpse into the application of ‘Sensor Network Systems’, by introducing experimental applications of the systems to various fields, such as social infrastructures, medical and health-care, and furthermore to agricultural and pastoral fields. The “Green Sensor Network Project Seminar”, organised by NEDO and NMEMS TRA, will also share some of the latest energy-saving approaches of well-known companies and present notable demonstrations that utilise sensor network systems. The results of the tests will be introduced together with a vision of the industry’s future.
Micromachine and MEMS technologies, vital to industry, are constantly evolving. Their applications, which had been limited to the electronics and automobile fields, are now expanding into healthcare, biotechnology, agriculture and livestock, environmental technology and infrastructure, and are expected to widen their appeal even further. “Nano Micro Biz”, accompanying “ROBOTECH”, will provide both exhibitors and visitors with rich opportunities for comprehensive and organic integration into various technologies and fields, and promote lively communication between industry players and universities. At the same time, the show aims to encourage new entries to the industry, and contribute to the further development and revitalisation of Japanese manufacturing.
“Nano Micro Biz” and “ROBOTECH” will be held jointly with the “OPIE – OPTICS & PHOTONICS International Exhibition” in 2014
The 2014 edition of “Nano Micro Biz” and “ROBOTECH” will be held jointly with the “OPIE – OPTICS & PHOTONICS International Exhibition”; an exhibition specialised in laser and optics technology, planned and operated by The Optronics Co., Ltd. The shows will be held at Pacifico Yokohama in April 2014. Details will be announced at a press conference, which will take place at the venue on 3 July.
