MDSL Supports Annual Charity Reception at the COSSIOM European Market Data Meeting

November 13th 2012 – London, New York, Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong – MDSL, the leading provider of global Market Data Management (MDM) and Telecom Expense Management (TEM) solutions today announced that it is attending the Commission des Services et Systèmes d’Informations destinés aux Opérateurs de Marchés (COSSIOM) annual event and supporting its annual fund raising dinner.

COSSIOM, established in the 1980s, is an association which forms a part of the AFTB (Association for Forex & Bank Treasurers). It is also a member organisation of IPUG (the Information Providers User Group) via its European Branch EIPUG (European IPUG). COSSIOM represents the interests of its members and is a forum in which its members have the opportunity to discuss the issues which affect them. The commission is based in Paris.

COSSIOM membership represents more than 70% of Market Data spend in France. One of its primary concerns is the surveillance of front office technical and functional business intelligence, with the focus particularly on Market Data. It monitors the current situation within these specific areas in order to take appropriate action – whether that is to anticipate changes, make decisions or to lobby together when required.

MDSL is proud to be attending the COSSIOM Charity Evening and sponsoring the raffle. As well as COSSIOM membership (the French IPUG), which represents the majority of the main banks and financial institutions in Paris, a large contingent of the central banks and institutions of Europe (including Germany, Switzerland and Scandanavia) will also be attending.

The second day of the event will feature a user-only European Market Data Conference, including delegates from every principal central bank, at which MDSL will be showcasing its new MDX Usage Reporting suite of services tailored for the Financial Services market.

As the cost of Market Data services continues to rise steeply, it has never been more important for financial organisations to ensure that they are utilising and managing their Market Data services as efficiently as possible. MDSL’s new MDX Usage Reporting services have been designed specifically to extract the information from Market Data vendors and present it in an easily-accessible form for detailed analysis and monitoring.

Ben Mendoza, CEO of MDSL commented: ““Usage is now the main focus of any cost analysis. There is often a significant difference between the number of accesses for which you pay, and those which you regularly use. MDSL’s new MDX Usage Reporting solution is invaluable for COOs and Business Managers alike when deciding whether to cancel, renew or re-negotiate contracts, and we’re looking forward to demonstrating how it gives Market Data managers everywhere the tools to maximise the benefit they derive from their different services, while eradicating wastage and minimising costs”.
