TEKNEK EXPERIENCES HIGH DEMAND FOR THIN FILM CLEANING

Following its debut at the recent 2012 International Backlight Expo in Shanghai, Teknek reports considerable interest in its new Thin Film contact cleaning machine.

The Thin Film Machine (TFM) has been designed specifically for touch screen and Backlight Unit (BLU) manufacturers to help them increase yields, boost efficiency and cut waste.

One of the key problems facing these manufacturers is that the uniquely coated high value engineered films used in BLU production are becoming thinner.   This makes the films very fragile and difficult to handle.  All dry unattached particles must be removed from the film or it will be scrapped. For example, a 1 micron particle once laminated will create a 20 micron defect.

The TFM has been developed to provide a world leading cleaning performance without damaging the film but increasing production process speeds. The special Ultra cleen roller combined with the Oxydegradable Eco film used within the new TFM, delivers the unique ability to clean and process.

Ruaridh Nicolson, Teknek’s sales and marketing manager said: “The TFM created considerable interest at the show with a large number of BLU manufacturers telling us that they have been looking for this type of solution for some time.  Indeed we have already received a significant number of advance orders and have shipped the first units.”
He added: “Working closely with our customer base we have perfected a system which provides the best possible cleaning performance at the fastest production rates that is able to handle the thinner films that are being used today ”

Teknek’s unique Ultracleen rollers and EcoFilm adhesive system are used as the “cleaning core” in the New TFM machine. Eco Film is the first-to-market Oxydegradable Silicone free adhesive roll which will also help customers comply with their environmental obligations.
