“The Winter NAMM show always brings a renewed sense of innovation and fresh thinking to the music industry, and we at Casio are excited to debut a wide variety of instruments at this event,” said Stephen Schmidt, Vice President of Casio’s Electronic Musical Instrument Division. “We’re glad to be at the show again this year and look forward to another great NAMM experience.”
CELVIANO Grand Hybrid GP-300WE
The new CELVIANO Grand Hybrid GP-300WE comes equipped with the three historically popular grand piano sounds, as well as the same Natural Grand Hammer Action Keyboard as its predecessors. This innovative technology provides an authentic acoustic grand piano feel in a digital piano. Its design features a natural white wood finish for both the body and stand, producing a bright yet elegant ambiance that provides players with a beautiful alternative to the black wood finish of the GP-300BK. The GP-300WE also features the Grand Acoustic System that faithfully represents the sound of a grand piano as it emanates from above and below the soundboard. This six-speaker multichannel amplification system creates an immersive sound field like that of a nine-foot concert grand for both the player and audience. Other key features include several types of resonance, Hall Simulator, Concert Play Mode, 60 preset songs, Duet Mode and USB audio recording and playback.
New Keyboard Introductions
Casio’s newest electronic musical instruments offer a comprehensive feature set geared to enrich the learning experience and explore new musical genres. The new Portable CTK-3500, CTK-2550, CTK-1550, and Key Lighting LK-265, LK-247 and LK-190 keyboards are outfitted with Casio’s Voice Fingering Guide, Step-up Lesson System, and Lesson Lite which enable beginners to learn built-in songs, phase-by-phase, at their own individual pace. With the LCD display, consumers can learn both music notation and correct hand positioning, while Casio’s innovative Scoring System evaluates performance so users can track their progress. With the Key Lighting keyboards, users can practice with the help of the lighted 61-Key piano keyboard making learning both fun and entertaining.
The new CTK-2550, CTK-3500 and LK-265 also feature a direct connection to the new Chordana Play app, allowing users to learn to play their favorite songs via downloadable MIDI files. This unique connection operates over a standard 1/8” stereo cable between an iOS device and the keyboard.
In addition, all of these new keyboards feature Casio’s exciting new Dance Music Mode, which divides the piano keyboard into different instrument sections like drums, bass, and more. By playing different combinations of keys, users can easily create and instantly remix interesting and exciting dance music. Dance Music Mode offers 50 built-in styles, as well as familiar effects like stutter and filter.
Chordana Play App
Chordana Play is a free music app developed with the vision of enabling people who have no experience playing an electronic keyboard to have fun, while also helping seasoned keyboard players expand their repertoires. The app can automatically play 50 songs, from pop to classical and more. As the song plays, the app displays the correct keyboard position for both hands in real time in the piano roll window. Users can also play by touching the virtual keyboard, and they go even deeper with the lesson and scoring functions. Additionally, users can import song data (MIDI format) into Chordana Play, link to other electronic keyboards in Casio’s portfolio (including the Key Lighting and Standard keyboards) and connect to both Apple and Android tablets using a standard audio cable.
