(Hong Kong, 5 June, 2012) – [Premium copy paper brand] Double A is acknowledged a leader in corporate social responsibility (CSR) after garnering the Hong Kong CSR Award 2012 from CAPITAL and Capital Weekly, two leading financial magazines in Hong Kong.
“The Hong Kong CSR Awards 2012 is another recognition of serving as an innovative role model in the industry. It is a proof to Double A’s commitment to environmental, economical and social sustainability while providing the best quality paper to our customers,” said Mr. Thirawit Leetavorn, Senior Executive Vice President of Double A during the award presentation ceremony held at The Hong Kong Jockey Club on 25 May 2012.
The prestigious award acknowledges Double A’s efforts and best practices in promoting and integrating CSR in its business operations. Double A has long regarded CSR as a crucial part of the company guided through its sustainable business philosophy that revolves around environmental, social and economical responsibility. This philosophy illustrates the overall importance of sustainability for businesses worldwide and points the way for other organizations to follow.
Starting from Double A’s sustainable “Paper from KHAN-NA” program which has helped improving living conditions of 1.5 million Thai farmers, as well as address climate change issues, all while providing the company with sustainable fiber, the paper maker’s commitment to CSR does not stop here. Double A conducts business with similarly responsible companies, places emphasis on water and energy efficiency, and most importantly gives high priority to the welfare of its greatest assets – its employees.
“There is a multitude of ways for a company to become a model corporate citizen. This award provides fresh impetus to look for such ways, thus better fulfil our CSR commitment, and do justice to this award,” added Mr. Leetavorn.
