BROADBAND INFOVISION AWARDS 2011 ANNOUNCES JUDGES PANEL
18 May 2011 – The broadband industry’s leading awards event – Broadband InfoVision Awards – has today announced a judging panel packed with names from some of the world’s leading operators.
The Broadband InfoVision Awards 2011 – which have long been established as the industry’s most prestigious recognition of excellence in the broadband marketplace – will be judged by an independent panel of senior industry executives and experts.
Judges confirmed so far include Dr. Zhao Huiling (Vice-President of Beijing Research Institute at China Telecom), Dr. Yoon-Young Park (Senior Vice President, Head of Technology Development Office at Korea Telecom), Daniel Brower (EVP Convergence Technology at Deutsche Telekom Group) and Amaru Chavez (Group Chief Technology Officer at Etisalat).
Gavin Whitechurch, director of the Broadband World Forum, believes that the senior calibre of judges will be a major draw for entrants. He commented: “The Broadband InfoVision Awards continue to recognise the outstanding technologies developed for broadband services, while also reflecting the full Broadband ecosystem.
“The judging panel for the 2011 Awards is loaded with some very senior people from some of the world’s leading operators – making entering the awards an incredibly easy and efficient way of getting technology noticed by some of the world’s biggest and most influential players.”
Being held on the opening evening of the Broadband World Forum 2011 (27 September), the Awards will be presented on board the Bateau Diamant at an exclusive gala dinner. The ceremony will bring together top-level executives to enjoy a dinner cruise along the Seine whilst celebrating the most notable broadband innovations, products and services.
Gavin added: “Not only are they a great way to celebrate excellence and innovation in the sector, but they provide a fantastic networking opportunity for client entertaining and team building.
“We’ve already received some great entries for this year’s awards, and have decided to extend the deadline for those who were unable to complete their submissions in time – entrants now have until May 27th to submit for the awards.”
The 11th annual Broadband World Forum 2011 is taking place from 27-29 September at CNIT La Defense, Paris. The show has long been established as the place to meet and discuss the commercial and technical opportunities, developments and issues surrounding broadband.
