BROADBAND WORLD FORUM ASIA IS BACK WITH A BANG

10 May 2011 – Broadband World Forum Asia 2011 – recognised as Asia’s largest broadband and solutions showcase – kicked off today after a brief absence from the industry calendar.

The show, which is co-located with IP&TV World Forum Asia 2011, returned to the region with a strong operator-led agenda, including presentations from China Telecom, YTL, Telekom Malaysia, PLDT, NBN Co and Planet Online Laos today alone.

Addressing attendees at the evening drinks reception Dato’ Zamzamzairani Mohd Isa, Group CEO of Telekom Malaysia, discussed the success of Day One of the show. He commented: “This event gathers more than 2000 attendees who meet to discuss, exchange and share their own experience and knowledge in the broadband sphere at their respective countries with other fellow delegates” … “a special welcome also goes to distinguished partners who have made this world class event a reality.”

Gavin Whitechurch, director of the Broadband World Series, is delighted with the success of the first day. “Feedback from Day One has been fantastic, with the operator-led agenda becoming a key draw for many attendees, and with Day Two including presentations from Chunghwa Telecom, Telkom Indonesia and NTT West, delegates will certainly be equipped with the latest developments relating to Asia’s broadband and TV evolution.”

Broadband World Forum Asia 2011 provides the industry with the latest opinions on how to increase revenues and maximise investment in fibre and broadband networks. The combined exhibition is Asia Pacific’s largest broadband media showcase and networking centre.

Gavin added: “The success of the first day has cemented the future of the show, and with the global broadband market set to become an even more complex and diverse place we are already looking forward to 2012.”
