SAS 70 Type II Certification Verifies Computer Network Solutions as an Organization that Delivers Secure, Reliable, and Effective Operating Environments
ISLANDIA, NY — Jan 10, 2011 / (http://www.myprgenie.com) — After several months of intense testing and analysis, Computer Network Solutions (CNS) today announced its successful completion of the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) Type I and Type II, maintaining SAS 70 Type II certification, internationally recognized as one of the strictest auditing standards available for service companies.
“Maintaining SAS 70 Type II certification typifies CNS’s approach to deliver on our goal of being the partner of choice for our clients,” said Alan Cook, President of CNS. “Certifications such as these demonstrate our commitment to create and maintain the rigorous controls needed to ensure the highest standards of quality and security of services.”
The internationally recognized auditing statement issued by the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), SAS 70 is used to assess service organizations that comply with defined business processes and audit standards. The Type I report documents a service organization’s description of controls at a specific point in time. The Type II report not only includes a description of those controls, but also includes detailed testing of those controls over a six-month period or longer.
SAS 70 Type II certification acknowledges CNS as an organization that delivers secure, reliable, and effective operating environments featuring the appropriate controls for conducting IT operations. Keeping to SAS 70 Type II compliance demonstrates to current and prospective customers that CNS has been carefully reviewed and found to have surpassed the industry-accepted controls and safeguards for hosting, monitoring, or processing information belonging to customers.
Conducted by independent auditor, eDelta CPA Services, the SAS 70 Type II audit consisted of comprehensive reviews and tests of operational procedures and controls at CNS, including comprehensive reviews and tests of infrastructure – including power, physical and network security, backup and recovery procedures, maintenance procedures, infrastructure change management, environmental safeguards, communications, management and user controls, as well as insurance coverage.
Our clients can be assured that the operational processes and controls at CNS meet high standards for the security and reliability of the systems we manage. We are proud of this accomplishment because it reinforces our commitment to delivering the best quality business and information security practices to our customers.
