Regus opens the fourth business centre in Kangnam
Seoul 17 August 2010: Regus, the world’s leading provider of innovative workplace solutions, has recognised South Korea’s brighter economic outlook, and responded to an upturn in enquiries, by opening a new business centre in Seoul.
The centre – Regus’ fourth in the city – is located in the international business district of Gangnam, which is particularly popular with hi-tech, IT and venture companies, the service industries and finance.
Businesses of all sizes are attracted by the city’s excellent communications and transport infrastructure, while foreign investors are drawn by the South Korean government’s range of incentives, including tax and customs exemptions.
On top of this, South Korea’s broader economic recovery is also good news for businesses, with the Bank of Korea putting real GDP at 7.8% in the first quarter of 2010. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) suggests its fast turnaround is down to increased domestic demand, the right economic policies and high capital utilisation.
“South Korea is one of the main Asian economies pulling the world out of recession and driving economic revival,” said Jessy Takashi Kure, Chairman for North Asia at Regus. “This environment provides strong growth prospects in Seoul, which has led to an increase in enquiries about our services – convincing us to invest further in the city.
“Our flexible and cost-effective products can support local and international companies as they explore the business opportunities available in this expanding market. Businesses can react to changing market conditions by scaling up or down as required without the risks associated with a long-term lease.”
The new Regus centre is in the Gangnam Building in Seocho-dong – the sought-after heart of Seoul’s business district and close to line 2 Gangnam subway station. Gimpo Airport is 45 minutes away and Incheon International Airport is a 60-minute drive.
Taking the hi-tech nature of its neighbours into account, the centre provides high-speed secure internet access as well as a business lounge.
