Cambium Networks renews commitment to DACH region with expansion of Connecting the Unconnected Strategy

Munich, GERMANY, 20 July 2017 – Cambium Networks™, a leading global provider of trusted wireless solutions that connect the unconnected, today announced the appointment of Tabatha von Kölichen as its Regional Sales Director for the regions of Germany, Austria, Switzerland (DACH), reporting to Alessio Murroni, Senior Sales Director for Europe.

Based in Munich, Germany, von Kölichen will drive sales of Cambium Networks’ industry-leading wireless point-to-point backhaul, point-to-multipoint distribution, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi, and management system solutions through the local support and expansion of Cambium Networks’ network of certified, local Value Added Resellers (VARs).

“With more than 20 years of international experience in the IT and Telecom industry, we feel confident that Tabatha is the right choice to successfully build up the Cambium business in this key region of Europe,” said Alessio Murroni, Senior Sales Director for Europe. “We are currently experiencing very strong growth in all European markets and want to ensure that we have the right resources in place to support our partners locally. We look forward to seeing the positive impact that Tabatha and the team will have on the Cambium business.”

von Kölichen has a proven track record of opening up new markets and before joining Cambium Networks was the Regional Sales Director in the DACH region for Meru Networks, where she successfully established and rapidly grew the wireless business until Meru’s acquisition by Fortinet in 2015. After ensuring the smooth transition of the Meru WLAN business to Fortinet, von Kölichen oversaw business development for Fortinet’s Enhanced Technologies Portfolio which included Wi-Fi and other security solutions.

A veteran in the European IT & Telecom industry with an MBA from McGill University, von Kölichen has held various roles in sales and marketing for renowned companies including Newbridge Networks (acquired by Alcatel), Mitel, Juniper Networks and Locatel (acquired by Hoist) in France, as well as the Eastern European and DACH regions.

“I am very excited to be joining the Cambium team; I feel that the DACH market is ready for a reasonably priced and robust Wi-Fi solution that can be flexibly deployed (cloud, controller or Autopilot), combined with fixed broadband wireless technology and managed end-to-end,” said von Kölichen. “With Cambium Networks’ extensive portfolio of broadband wireless and Wi-Fi solutions, we are extremely well positioned to provide reliable and secure connectivity to enterprise, industry, local government and wireless ISP’s in the region.”

One of Cambium Networks’ first initiatives in the region will be to assist local government decision makers with applying for WiFi4EU funding. This program is an EU initiative which aims to provide easy access to wireless connectivity for all European citizens and visitors in public places.

“The Cambium solutions are perfectly suited to helping local governments deploy smart cities and Wi-Fi hotspots,” added von Kölichen “I very much look forward to working closely with our skilled resellers in the region and expanding our coverage.”
