Global Shop Solutions To Build Bicycles for Abused Children

THE WOODLANDS, TX, April 2015 – Global Shop Solutions makes enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for manufacturers around the globe, helping them cut costs, streamline processes and operate their businesses more efficiently. On April 24th, the firm’s consulting team will undertake a bit of manufacturing on their own by building and donating numerous bicycles to Children’s Safe Harbor, a local nonprofit organization that provides a variety of services to abused children.

Every April, Global Shop Solutions’ team of expert consultants gathers for a week of training, ongoing education and teambuilding. To wrap up this year’s “Consultant Week,” the 40+ consultants will break into teams, with each team assembling several bikes for donation.

“A bicycle can have a big impact on a child’s life,” says Casey Moes, project manager and team leader for Global Shop Solutions. “Building the bikes will provide a fun teambuilding exercise that enables us to contribute to the local community as well our own professional development.”

Assembled from prefabricated bicycle kits, the bikes will include BMX and mountain models, and will offer a variety of sizes to fit children ranging from age five to 18. Jayland Keeney, Director of human resources for Global Shop Solutions, will present the bikes to Children’s Safe Harbor on April 27th.

“Global Shop Solutions has a long history of giving back to our community, including ongoing programs to support the homeless, Toys for Tots, youth programs, and veterans,” adds Keeney. “We’re proud to support Children’s Safe Harbor, and hope these bikes will make a difference in the lives of children who have been victims of abuse.”
