Avnet Broadens Reach of X-fest Technical Training with New On-Demand Videos
SINGAPORE, March 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — Between September 2014 and January 2015, more than 6,000 engineers worldwide, including 4,000 engineers from Asia, attended Avnet’s 37-city X-fest technical seminar series to receive expert instruction on designing with the Xilinx® 7 series, Zynq®-7000 All Programmable SoC and UltraScale™ device families.
Avnet Electronics Marketing Asia, an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT) is making these technical workshops available to an even broader audience with the launch of the 2014 X-fest On Demand website today onwards. The site offers viewers free, unlimited access to video recordings of all 12 instructional courses offered throughout the X-fest series. The post-event site also includes descriptions of the exhibits and product demonstrations featured at the live X-fest events.
This year’s X-fest program featured twelve technical courses based on the Xilinx® 7 series, Zynq® -7000 All Programmable SoC and UltraScale™ device families. Now, on demand, viewers can watch presentations from any of the three educational tracks: Zynq Applications, FPGA/SoC Design Techniques and Zynq System Design. The courses were developed and presented by Avnet FAEs and technical experts in collaboration with leading suppliers including Xilinx, Inc., Analog Devices, Inc., STMicroelectronics, TE Connectivity (TE), Texas Instruments Inc., Maxim Integrated Products Inc., Micron Technology, Inc. and Freescale Semiconductor, Inc.
“As much as attendees are able to take away from these workshops, we know that it’s a lot of information to digest in just one day,” said Tim Barber, senior vice president, design chain business development, Avnet Electronics Marketing. “By making these videos available online, those who attended the event can get a convenient refresher and also view presentations that they missed. And, of course, those that could not be present for any of the live events can now take advantage of the online offerings to boost their understanding of these key technologies.”
“As a lead sponsor for X-fest 2014, Xilinx worked closely with Avnet to deploy this very successful X-fest program,” said Chris Henry, vice president, sales operations and channel sales, Xilinx. “X-fest is already a great vehicle for thousands of design engineers to expand their knowledge of Xilinx’s All Programmable devices. We are very pleased Avnet has made this content available online for post-event review for those engineers who were unable to participate live, and those who would like to refresh their knowledge gained from the event.”
