“Nano Micro Biz”, and “ROBOTECH” open their doors at Pacifico Yokohama

Held jointly with “OPIE – OPTICS & PHOTONICS International Exhibition”, the 2014 fair boasts more than 162 exhibitors.

“Nano Micro Biz”, the leading exhibition in the Japanese nano-micro industry, focusing on Micro/MEMS and nanotechnology, previously known as “Exhibition Micromachine/MEMS”, and “ROBOTECH”, an exhibition on next-generation service robot manufacturing technologies, are starting today at Pacifico Yokohama, Japan.

This year, welcoming 162 exhibitors (Japan: 145, Overseas: 17) from 11 countries and regions, the shows are held jointly with “OPIE -OPTICS & PHOTONICS International Exhibition (OPIE’ 14)”, which covers a wide range of technology such as lasers, photonics, positioning, space & astronomical optics, lens design and manufacturing technologies. Together with “OPIE’ 14”, “Nano Micro Biz” and “ROBOTECH” offer a business platform to connect micro-fabrication technology and business.

The fairs have been strengthening their ability to provide both exhibitors and visitors with effective opportunities for further business development, by offering information and ideas regarding application systems, devices and solutions.

This year, “Nano Micro Biz” introduces four new exhibition zones on the following themes: ‘Open Innovation’, ‘Smart Monitoring’, ‘3D Printer’ and ‘Minimal Fab’. The new zones will focus on sharing ideas and solutions on new applications of the technology.
The ‘Smart Monitoring’ zone puts a spotlight on the growing needs of constant monitoring using sensor technologies in various fields, such as social and environmental infrastructures, agriculture, healthcare and biotechnology. ‘3D Printer’ and ‘Minimal Fab’ are receiving remarkable attention, as indicating showcasing theirir next stage models of manufacturing platform.   This year, Tthere will be more than 20 companies, laboratories and universities presenting the latest technologies and products in the 3D printing and minimal fabrication fields.  The last zone, ‘Open Innovation’ will have more than 20 laboratories, academic associations and technology centres, which provide their research facilities to support corporate research and development activities. The zone will promote the use of the facilities, as well as introduce the latest progress in research. There will be presentations by participating parties at the presentation stage, set up in the fair ground.

Concurrent programmes will be held throughout the fair’s three days at the Annex Hall and the Presentation room. Seven informative symposiums and seminars will share the latest research developments and market trends on MEMS technologies, their application and solutions.

“Nano Micro Biz” and “ROBOTECH” not only showcases products and technology, but also a wide range of ideas, business solutions, and applications as well as systems and devices, and are aiming to further contribute to social and business development.
