Chargearoo: A Kickstarter iPhone Charging Solution
Westford, MA — Apr 11, 2014 / (http://www.myprgenie.com) — An exciting new product is now available for iPhone users: the Chargearoo, a device that keeps your iPhone out of harm’s way — like a joey in a kangaroo’s pouch. Launched on Kickstarter, this durable product holds the iPhone and its cord securely while charging.
“I love the Chargearoo! Now I can charge my phone without it slipping into the bathroom sink, or falling from the table and shattering the screen,” says Jeffrey Zukowski, a seasoned business traveler and father who has replaced multiple iPhones due to damage. “I worry when I have to leave my phone on the floor by an airport outlet, where it could easily get stepped on.”
Created by industrial designer David Ditzler, the Chargearoo offers a simple solution to a potentially expensive problem. “When I’m traveling, I always see expensive iPhones on the floor or dangling from an armrest — in danger of being spilled on, stepped on, or grabbed by curious toddlers,” Ditzler said. A 2013 survey* of nearly 1500 people who had damaged their phones showed that 32% had stepped or sat on them and 35% had dropped them into water.
Made in the USA, designed and built locally in Chicago, and using just-in-time manufacturing, the Chargearoo is inexpensive enough to have one for the kitchen and one for on the road. Backers who contribute $10 or more will receive their very own Chargearoo in just a few weeks, in May of this year, and can choose from one of 6 colors. (See: www.bit.ly/Chargearoo)
The Chargearoo also works with other smartphones as long as they charge via USB, use the original Apple charger, and are approximately the same size as an iPhone.
