18 Enterprises Receive Global Recognition for Data Center Design and Operations Efficiency

NEW YORK, Feb. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Uptime Institute, an independent division of the 451 Group, today announced 18 winners in the first annual Brill Awards for Efficient IT.

In the judgment of more than 90 industry professionals who evaluated submissions from leading enterprises around the world, these projects best exhibited efficiency in data center and IT operations in the broadest sense of the word — efficiency of capital deployment, technology, design, operations and overall management. The Brill Awards program seeks to showcase companies and technologies that improve the industry’s ability to sustainably deliver IT services to the end user.

The Brill Awards continue the legacy of Uptime Institute’s founder, the late Kenneth Brill, and promote his vision of sharing best practices and new ideas to improve IT efficiency. The Brill Awards replace the GEIT Awards, an Uptime Institute program that recognized accomplishment in data center efficiency from 2008-2013.

The Uptime Institute will host a Brill Awards VIP dinner at Uptime Institute Symposium 2014: Empowering the Data Center Professional (May 20-22 at Santa Clara, CA), where winners will present sessions or discuss the winning projects.
