A1GP Launches Exciting New ‘Dashboard’ Feature on A1GP.com
London, Great Britain – A1GP.com is to launch ‘Dashboard’, a new live GPS-style mapping and telemetry system to enhance fans’ viewing of races for the rest of the season. A1GP.com, the only official website for A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, already offers an unparalleled range of live timing and statistical data during races, but the new ‘Dashboard’ feature will take the watching the sport to a whole new interactive level.
While watching the live television coverage of qualifying and races, fans will now be able to access a host of new information including real-time position maps, detailing the exact location of every race car on track, along with a live feed of dashboard information from every A1GP nation’s car.
Thanks to the new technology in the new A1GP Powered by Ferrari car, a fan can select to view any of the 22 team’s real-time steering wheel data, including speed, throttle pressure, G-Force, gear and how many applications of the crucial PowerBoost button they have left. This is the same data which teams use to help determine race strategy and their all-important pit stops.
Pete da Silva, CEO of A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, said: “This is an excellent new feature which fans of international motor racing have never been able to access before. We are sure it will make watching our races on TV even more exciting, giving an added dimension to following the action of a race for every fan. It also adds to our impressive profile of free online content on A1GP.com, including our live video streaming, highlights videos, live positioning timing as well as our exclusive columns and news.”
The Dashboard system was trialled to A1GP.com Fanzone members at the last race in Sepang, Malaysia, and proved extremely popular. “The map feature is awesome!,” said one fan. “It allows me to follow the whole race and my favourite nations. I was actually on India’s telemetry when they crashed, so I knew all was over for Narain when the revs went to zero.” Another fan commented, “It looks good and I’m going to use it for every race.”
