Regus Opens First Providence Location in Direct Response to Increased Market Demand
Providence, Rhode Island – (January 20, 2011) – To accommodate growing demand from businesses in New England for flexibility, Regus, the world’s largest provider of workplace solutions, has opened its first full service business center at Westminster Square in the heart of Providence, Rhode Island.
“For the first time, businesses operating in Providence and across Rhode Island will have access to Regus’ unmatched office space, business lounges and support services, just a short distance from where they live,” said Jeff Doughman, Regus’ Vice President. The opening of our first center in the state is a significant milestone for us as we begin the New Year. The new center offers the businesses of Rhode Island a great work environment that meets their needs, improves productivity and drives down overhead costs,” he added.
Badly battered by the economic downturn, Rhode Island is working to regain its financial strength in 2011. Among the factors state lawmakers and businesses are counting on to fuel a rapid recovery are: a lower cost of doing business when compared to neighboring states; seven prestigious universities; a highly skilled workforce and its close proximity to business capitals along the I-95 corridor, including New York and Boston.
A bright spot for Providence is the ongoing development of the newly formed “Knowledge District,” which is home to biotech companies and Brown University’s medical school. Efforts led by a consortium of public and private entities are working to make the “Knowledge District” more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly, potentially bringing more jobs and economic revitalization to the city.
“As businesses move forward, they need and demand flexibility in order to adapt to changing market conditions. Our expansion into Rhode Island and across the U.S. is a result of the rising demand we are experiencing. Based on the feedback we receive from our customers, the need for our services is strong and we expect to continue our rapid expansion in 2011.”
The new Regus center is located in the financial district, directly across from City Hall. The center is ideal for businesses of all sizes across all industries that are looking for cost-effective workplace solutions that will allow them to easily expand or downsize as their business needs dictate.
Grand opening festivities for the media and the public will take place on Wednesday, February 9th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The center is located at 10 Dorrance Street, Suite 700, Providence, Rhode Island 02903.
