G&D Offers Middleware for the Secure Integration of Authentication Solutions Into IT Infrastructure

The new StarSign® Management Suite Client middleware offered by Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) enables various security elements such as smart cards and USB tokens for user authentication to be easily connected to company IT systems. The software acts as an interface between the security elements and IT security applications. The StarSign Management Suite supports all relevant smart card communications standards. With this middleware, G&D is one of the first companies to adopt the new ISO/IEC 24727 standard, which will play a significant role in the future, especially in public-sector smart card projects – e.g. the European Citizen Card.

Based on the G&D Mobility Token, the new product is called CLX.Sentinel. Authentication with the integrated certificate makes it even more user-friendly: users simply plug it in, enter their pin number, and enjoy secure online banking. The CLX.Sentinel has already been ordered by nine Swiss banks.

Giesecke & Devrient Smart Card Solution for Personal Identity Verification Satisfies U.S. Government Standard

Munich/San Francisco, April 15, 2009 – Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) is presenting its new StarSign cards at the RSA Conference in San Francisco (stand 1745) – one of the world’s most important conferences for information security. The cards conform to the FIPS 201 standard. They are the first smart card solutions presented by G&D that satisfy the strict security requirements of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and are thus approved for authenticating employees and contractors for access to U.S. government facilities and information systems. Another important product is G&D’s StarSign Mobility Token, which provides secure mobile access to company data from any computer. The StarSign Mobility Token ID1 is a mobile, highly secure storage medium for data and applications that supports smart card-based authentication. Giesecke & Devrient Now Delivering Prepay SIM Cards Directly to T-Mobile UK Customers

Munich, October 30, 2008 – T-Mobile customers in the UK are now receiving deliveries direct from Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) when they place an online order for prepay SIM cards. With its system of “SIM production on demand”, the Munich-based company has reduced the waiting time for SIM cards requested by T-Mobile customers to just a few days. T-Mobile UK sends the necessary data to G&D over a secure data link as soon as a customer places an online order. G&D takes care of SIM-card personalisation and handles the entire shipment, including covering letter and enclosures. The parcel is sent on its way by post just a few hours later. For T-Mobile UK this means zero warehousing costs and the elimination of risks associated with the logistics process. G&D expects to deliver several million SIM cards each year.
