Sofie joins the Secure Identity Alliance (SIA) as Advisory Observer

Paris, December 12, 2016 – The Secure Identity Association (SIA), the global identity and secure eServices advisory body, today announces that digital consultancy, Sofie, has joined the Association as an Advisory Observer – marking another important milestone in the rapid growth of the SIA.

Sofie (http://sofie.fr/fr/home/) joins the e-Governance Academy (www.ega.ee) and Interact4C (http://www.interact4c.eu/?lang=en) as recent SIA Advisory Observers, and will support the Association’s work championing the role of trusted digital identities as a key driver of sustainable economic growth in countries around the world.

Sofie’s presence as an Advisory Observer further strengthens the SIAs considerable expertise within the identity space, adding a wealth of technical and regional experience gained from electronic identification projects in African countries including Kenya, the Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, the Caribbean region and the Middle East.

Bernard Morvant, Sofie’s Business Development Director and Senior Consultant, will sit as Advisory Observer, lending his experience to the SIA’s workgroup program. “The role of identity is a central tenant in the development of greater economic and social equality across Africa and other emerging countries ,” he said. “The SIA is the ideal forum in which to develop our conceptual thinking around identity, and to provide practical consultancy to support rapidly growing economies across the region.”

In welcoming Sofie to the Association, Frédéric Trojani, President of the Secure Identity Alliance said: “Bernard will be an influential voice in the SIA. His key role in the strategy definition and development plans of both foundational and functional identity government initiatives in Africa and the Middle East as well as in the Caribbean region is well known, and his unrivalled insights will strengthen our programs in support of governments around the world.”
