Innovations and inventions at the iENA 2015

(PresseBox) Creative ideas, smart inventions and technical innovations attract a trade public from more than 40 countries (2014) to the Nuremburg Exhibition Center. For 67 years now, iENA has been the international hub for inventions. Companies, technical colleges, research facilities and inventors use iENA to engage in fruitful dialog with one another. The summit conference of the International Invention Fair 2014 in South Korea sets the course for iENA 2015. In addition to iENA, those responsible for inventor trade fairs from Malaysia, the US, Switzerland and Korea participated to exchange experience, kick off collaborative activities and define quality parameters for inventors’ trade fairs.

iENA 2015 enjoys a growing level of internationality

After the success of previous years, various joint national contributions have already registered for iENA 2015, for instance, Iran. Last year, inventors from 30 countries presented about 700 inventions at the trade fair. This year, the degree of internationality will be further expanded: For the very first time, Poland partners with iENA. The Department for Trade and Investments of the Polish Embassy in Berlin presented inventions and innovative solutions from scientific research institutes, innovative companies and individual researchers from Poland. For many years now, the Nuremburg trade fair has been a permanent part of the agenda in the exhibition calendar of Polish researchers and developers.

27 exhibitors from Poland participated in the iENA.

National and international inventors associations and initiatives, for example the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) and the “Querdenker Stiftung”, will boost our exhibition activities this year. In addition to focusing on promoting creative skill sets and capabilities, the Initiative “Querdenker” will also focus on networking: “Querdenker” helps inventors when forming inventor clubs, independent of any particular organization, and provides them with a contact forum at the exhibition. Youths can learn from their peers at workshops and presentations – and teachers obtain tips on how to support students when it comes to brainstorming.

The iENA-innovation-seminar (October 30) and the iENA-START-symposium (October 31) represent the technical highlights of the inventors trade fair. For 2015 the innovation-seminar has the title “Innovation management strageties – generating and implementing new products and processes”. Chambers of Industry and Commerce, technical colleges and representatives from business are there to provide the appropriate information. The iENA-START-symposium carries on with the seminar topic and focuses on “Invent and become a company”.

€ 10,000 for young inventors

At this year’s iENA, the special prize of the “Peter Jochimsen Foundation”, Eckernförde will be awarded for the first time. During the first two days of the trade fair, a specialist jury will assess the inventions of young iENA exhibitors who actively do research in schools, young inventors clubs, as well as colleges and universities. With prize money of total € 10,000 for the three best young inventors, Professor Jochimsen supports young people with creative ideas and innovations, and gives them valuable support when embarking on a future career as researchers and inventors. Professor Jochimsen will award the prizes during the iENA medal awards on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 16:00. The first prize is € 5,000, the second prize is € 3,000 and the third prize is € 2,000.

START – the trade fair for people wanting to start a company – ideally supplements iENA

The trade fair “START” (October 31 and November 1, 2015) involves itself with forming a company, financing, succession and franchising. It is coupled with iENA, therefore supplementing the information provided for inventors and people wishing to start their own company. The iENA 2015, International Trade Fair “Ideas – Inventions – New Products” is open for the trade public only on October 29 and 30. At the weekend (October 31 and November 1), visitors also have the opportunity of visiting the inventors trade fair along with the Consumenta which runs in parallel.
