The Cat® Built For It™ Trials Hit a Hole in One with “Driving Range”
Brutal temperatures. Blazing sunshine. Hazards unlike any other – maybe even tougher than this year’s US Open course. Two Japanese golf pros take the sport to a whole new level as they tackle a course made entirely of moving Cat® equipment.
In “Driving Range,” the latest short film in the Built For It Trials™, twin sisters Erimo and Marimo Ikeuchi—members of the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA)—take their best shots at this one-of-a-kind course, built at the Caterpillar Tinaja Hills Demonstration & Learning Center near Tucson, Arizona.
Five Cat machines—a 772G, 775G and 793F Off-Highway Truck, 982M Wheel Loader, and CT660 On-Highway Truck —make up the fairway, the hazards and the green. The result is a golf course unlike any these two pro golfers have ever attempted.
But the Ikeuchi sisters are up to the challenge. Watch the video to see how they tackle the course—and discover just how nimble some of the world’s largest mining and construction equipment can be.
