KSCAN PE 300 INK JET PRINTER OF HIGHLY CONDUCTIVE INK BASED ON SILVER NANOPARTICLES: SEVERAL METERS PER MINUTE, 30 µm LINE WIDTH
Genes’Ink (www.genesink.com ) company specialized in the design and the manufacture of nanosolutions announces its partnership with KELENN Technology (www.kelenntech.com) for the printed electronics market. Genes’Ink and KELENN Tech present the KSCAN PE300, a new inkjet solution for highly conductive ink based on silver nanoparticles with very high printing speeds of several meters per minute. The printed patterns (RFID antenna, electronic circuitry…) can reach a line width of 30 microns width with a 5µm precision.
KELENN Technology is a French manufacturer of inkjet printing solutions and automatic inspection by vision for industrial production centers. From this partnership KSCAN PE300 has been developed: a high-performance industrial equipment for printing on all substrates, including a photonic annealing in a confined environment (vacuum system and control atmosphere/ temperature) associated to a conductive patented inks adapted to industrial printing speeds of several meters per minute (against few cm / h today on the market).
Genes’Ink, with its strong positioning in the printed electronics market, addresses the need for a “turnkey” solution for direct users (precise printing of highly conductive patterns including the drying step – printing of active layers (ETL) for OLEDs, RFID antennas printing, printing of patterns for the production of capacitor ….).
The use of a high-speed printer with integrated photonic annealing system significantly reduces production times (one step instead of three usually) and the equipment investment costs. Printing with inks containing nanoparticles also reduces the manufacturing costs by reducing the amount of material jetted. As an example, for the printing of an RFID antenna, the consumption of silver is divided by 50 for an even better conductivity thanks to Genes’Ink patented solution.
Presented at the SEMICON EUROPA 2014 exhibition, the KSCAN PE 300 specializing in highly conductive ink printing has attracted professionals of printed electronics as well as institutional. This partnership already offers an electronic pattern printing system in research laboratory and process engineering. The roll to roll solution is also available. Main innovative features of the KSCAN PE 300: This innovative inkjet printing system with patented silver nanoparticles based inks, offers: • High speed printing (several m / min) • Drop On Demand • High resolution • Tools Operator control and preparation software • Few minutes setting time • Integrated photonic annealing • Optimum Safety
About Genes’Ink : Genes’Ink (Provence, FRANCE) is a company founded in 2010 and specializes in the design and manufacture of nanoparticles embedded to formulations of unique inks. Its functional inks present conductive or semiconductive properties that enable innovative applications especially in the markets of printed electronics, renewable energy and cosmetics. These conductive or semi-conductive inks, from this technology, allow to produce extremely fine deposits (down to 20 nm) by different industrial printing means (inkjet, screen printing, roll-to-roll). These printed electronics patterns allow the achievement of transparent electrodes, RFID antennas, screens, OPV and cosmetics. With its expertise, the company has proven the quality and the stability of its products and in particular convinced international industrial groups to use this patented technology, very competitive, efficient and environmentally friendly
