“Nano Micro Biz” and “ROBOTECH” concluded successfully providing diverse technological solution and business ideas
“Nano Micro Biz”, the leading exhibition in the Japanese nano-micro industry, focusing on Micro/MEMS and nanotechnology and “ROBOTECH”, an exhibition on next-generation service robot manufacturing technologies, closed successfully on 25 April 2014.
162 exhibitors (Japan: 145, Overseas: 17) from 11 countries and regions welcomed a total of 18,237 visitors# throughout the three days. (2012: 186 exhibitors) The shows were held jointly with “OPIE -OPTICS & PHOTONICS International Exhibition (OPIE’ 14)” which covered a wide range of technology such as lasers, photonics, positioning, space & astronomical optics, lens design and manufacturing technologies. The fairground of the three shows was connected, enabling the entire event to offer a platform to make micro-fabrication technology into business in a diverse technology field. Many exhibitors commented positively for holding the three fairs concurrently that they encountered new clients they never have met before.

Regular exhibitor, Mr. Sotaro Tanaka from the New Product Dept. of Sakase Chemical Co., Ltd. expressed his high satisfaction: “The quality of the visitors was really high. They came to our booths with a clear business idea. We do exhibit at other technological exhibitions, but the quality never beats Nano Micro Biz. This fair brings our core targets and enables us to meet people who we can’t meet on daily basis. We feel that the visitor range diversified for holding the three fairs jointly. We would like to come back again.”
Mr. Noriyuki Tanaka of Andor Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of the 3D printer and 3D designing software commented on the outcome of their participation: “We have joined many other fairs to promote our products and we were advised to exhibit at this fair as well. We are overwhelmingly happy for the excellent responses from many visitors who came to our booth. We are thinking about taking part again.”
Mr. Masami Hagiya of the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, University of Tokyo, who came back for the second time at the Academic Pavilion, explained how the show was a success for them: “This year’s Academic Pavilion came out a lot better than the previous. We felt that there was more variety in the contents of presentation and at the same time more unified. I saw many core laboratories this year too. The visitors seemed to be more understanding and knowledgeable in our field that we were able to talk in depth and to receive innovative ideas. We’re very glad that we participated”.
Throughout the three days, concurrent programmes were held at the Annex Hall and the Presentation room. Seven informative symposiums and seminars were full of people who sought after the latest research developments and market trends on nano/micro technologies, their application and solutions.
