Actiontec Launches First Wireless Display Receiver Certified for Intel(R) Pro WiDi
LAS VEGAS, April 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Intel Solutions Summit — Actiontec Electronics today announced the launch of ScreenBeam Pro Business Edition, the industry’s first wireless display receiver to support Intel® Pro Wireless Display (WiDi). The new receiver delivers all the capabilities and performance of Intel WiDi wireless display technology, along with the security and IT manageability features that businesses and schools need.
The ScreenBeam Pro Business Edition receiver is a small WiDi/Miracast adapter that connects to a projector, TV, or other display and lets users wirelessly share content from a compatible laptop, smartphone, or tablet. This makes presentations and impromptu meetings in the conference room a breeze, as users don’t need to scramble to find the right HDMI or VGA cable in order to share a spreadsheet or presentation on the big screen.
In addition, IT can manage the ScreenBeam Pro Business Edition receiver through a web interface in order to configure the receiver, update security settings and optimize to their specific needs. IT managers now have the control over the device they require to deploy a wireless display solution with confidence.
“Wireless display technology has taken off among consumers, and we have already seen tremendous interest from schools and businesses for our ScreenBeam products. Now, with the launch of Intel Pro WiDi and ScreenBeam Pro Business Edition, we’re excited to give these user groups the critical business-class security and manageability features they require,” said Dean Chang, President and CEO at Actiontec.
“Actiontec is an important collaborator for expanding our wireless display ecosystem and addressing key business requirements, allowing users to securely display everything on their computing devices to their screen of choice. Their new ScreenBeam Pro Business Edition removes the wire and brings the enhanced quality of the Intel Pro WiDi collaboration experience to conference rooms and classrooms everywhere,” said Tom Garrison, Vice President, PC Client Group and General Manager, Business Client Platforms Division, at Intel.
ScreenBeam Pro Business Edition can stream content from any Intel WiDi product including Intel-based tablets, Ultrabook™ devices, and 2 in 1 devices with 4th generation Intel® Core™ vPro™ processors, and it is also compatible with Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Miracast™ devices.
