Alltech Announces New Technologies at APA13 to Support Aquaculture Producers in Asia-Pacific

[HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam] – Global animal health and nutrition leader Alltech shared its vision for the pathway to profitability in aquaculture with producers from all over the Asia-Pacific region during the Asia Pacific Aquaculture 2013 Conference and Tradeshow. Aqua farmers were introduced to the Kentucky-based company’s latest innovations in fish and shrimp farming, such as the Aqua On-farm Advantage and Mycotoxin and Mineral Management programs.

“In today’s competitive and often challenging global environment, producers in the aquaculture industry must increase their production efficiency and focus on becoming more profitable in order to sustain their business,” said Matthew Smith, director of Alltech Asia Pacific.

Alltech’s investment in aquaculture research has significantly increased in recent years. The opening of the Global Aquaculture Research Center in Kentucky, USA, as well as the launch of Research Alliance programs with the Norwegian Institute of Food, Fisheries and Aquaculture Research (Nofima) and the Kochi University in Japan, indicates the company’s commitment to supporting aquaculture producers in lowering their costs and increasing their performance and profitability.

During the Asia Pacific Aquaculture Conference and Tradeshow (APA13), Alltech showcased their latest research developments at an interactive booth. Technical experts offered their consultancy support and guests were invited to taste a glass of Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale®, Alltech’s flagship beer product.

The company also announced the launch of Mycosorb A+, the next generation mycotoxin binder. As a unique product, Mycosorb A+ reduces mycotoxin absorption within the animal, thereby negating the damaging effects of mycotoxins on its health.

Alltech’s new Aquaculture On-farm Advantage program goes directly on to the farm to increase production efficiency to make farming more profitable.. The G-10 Solutions program, part of the Aquaculture On-farm Advantage Packs, was designed to set up fish for maximum growth performance. It combines Alltech’s scientifically-proven technologies into one solution to address performance indicators and maximize economic return. The JV-50 Solutions program was also launched during APA13 and specifically supports juvenile fish for maximum lifetime performance.

“Aquaculture is the fastest growing sector in the feed global industry and, within that, Asia has a dominant role in providing safe and nutritious products to consumers,” said Dr. Jorge Arias, global director at Alltech. “At Alltech, we provide natural, sustainable solutions to aqua farmers, feed millers and producers in order to support them in the long-term growth of their businesses.”
