AIRBIQUITY EXPANDS EXECUTIVE TEAM WITH KEY STRATEGIC HIRES

SEATTLE– August 14, 2013 – Airbiquity, Inc., a global leader in connected vehicle services, today announced four strategic hires within their executive team to support the company’s accelerated growth and momentum in the global “Connected Car” market. Prabuddha Biswas will serve as the Vice President of Engineering, Scott Frank as the Vice President of Marketing, Jeffry Shelby as General Counsel and Mark Sagafi as Director of Business Development.

Prabuddha Biswas – Vice President of Engineering

Prabuddha Biswas will lead Airbiquity’s growing engineering management team as VP of Engineering. Biswas brings 30 years of large-scale software technology development and management experience to Airbiquity. Biswas came to Airbiquity from Medio Systems where he was the SVP of Engineering, and has held multiple senior management roles at VMWare, Amazon, DEC and Oracle.

Scott Frank – Vice President of Marketing

As the new VP of Marketing, Scott Frank brings more than 25 years of marketing and management experience to Airbiquity. Most recently, Frank worked at a Seattle social media startup and has served multiple senior marketing roles at Microsoft, IBM and IDC. Frank’s primary focus will be to elevate and differentiate Airbiquity’s brand, launch integrated marketing campaigns and creating co-marketing initiatives with Airbiquity’s leading Automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.

Jeffry Shelby – General Counsel

After more than 15 years working at national law firms and with companies in the software computer storage, networking, telecommunications, e-commerce, retail and life sciences industries, Jeffry Shelby joins Airbiquity as General Counsel. Shelby was previously General Counsel for Varolii Corporation, Associate for Venture Law & Technology Transactions at Heller Ehrmann LLP and Associate for Corporate and Intellectual Property at Cooley LLP and Bogle & Gates P.L.L.C. In his new role, Shelby will leverage his extensive legal experience in commercial, technology, intellectual property, licensing, corporate negotiations and mergers and acquisitions.

Mark Sagafi – Director of Business Development

As Director of Business Development, Mark Sagafi will establish Airbiquity’s presence in Silicon Valley and focus on driving business development efforts with Automotive OEMs, Tier 1 Suppliers, Wireless Carriers and other stakeholders in the Connected Car ecosystem. Sagafi was previously Head of Automotive Global Business Development at Teleca Systems and comes with more than 25 years experience in management, business development and R&D engineering.
