De-Fi Mobile’s BroadSoft Deployment Manages More Than 20M Subscribers on IBM BladeCenter HT
Redwood Shores, CA, February 6th, 2008 – De-Fi Mobile Ltd., a ground-breaking global communications platform provider, today announced successful completion of a scalability demonstration of Broadsoft’s BroadWorks ® communication and messaging platform with IBM® BladeCenter® HT. During the recent series of tests at the IBM PSSC Network Transformation Center in Montpellier, France, the demonstration showed that De-Fi Mobile’s network can handle 20 million users and up to 40 million Busy Hour Call Attempts (BHCAs) on the IBM BladeCenter HT. This makes De-Fi’s London-based network the equivalent- if not far superior- to any major, worldwide carrier’s IP communication deployment.
The Montpellier trail was a proof of concept to demonstrate the scalability and reliability Tier 1 service providers can expect when deploying BroadWorks on IBM BladeCenter. De-Fi Mobile, which debuted its breakthrough mobile broadband application platform at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last week, now joins the ranks telecom giants Ericsson, Cox Communications and T-Systems in delivering world-class reliability, robustness and scalability to customers who choose to De-Fi.
“De-Fi chose BroadWorks on IBM BladeCenter as part of our mobile platform to ensure that our customers get the world-class service and features they have the right to expect,” said Jeffrey P. Rice, De-Fi co-founder and CEO. “The Montpellier trials were conducted on an identical configuration to what we have been running in our London data center, decisively showing that De-Fi customers will get the best possible service, anytime, anywhere in the world.”
The IBM BladeCenter HT , introduced in early 2007, extends the BladeCenter family to meet stringent NEBS3/ETSI requirements for telecommunications carrier grade deployments. The IBM BladeCenter HT delivers superior performance and high-speed connectivity for network bandwidth up to 10 times greater than previously possible, helping service providers unleash new, next-generation network services.
