EVUA appoints Jon Neville as its new General Manager
Today, the EVUA (Enterprise VPN Users Association) announced that Jon Neville has been appointed its new General Manager. Jon has been running the EVUA’s Unified Communications Group since he joined the EVUA two years ago. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the IT industry, and prior to joining the EVUA spent 10 years at a major multi-national company specialising in telecommunications; particularly the deployment of IP networks, IP Telephony and more recently Unified Communications.
The EVUA is an independent, non-profit, global ICT user group for multinational companies. The EVUA’s user representatives are key professionals responsible for the strategic direction of ICT service delivery and management. “Our mission is to influence the development and improvement of these global ICT strategies and services for the benefit of our members and their businesses,” said Jon. “Our surveys and workshops have directly helped members target important ICT investments and improve the performance of ICT for their companies.”
Jon succeeds Ed Vonk as the senior operations manager at the EVUA, responsible for steering policy and focus groups as well as its regular conferences. Vonk will serve EVUA as an advisor for the first part of 2009. John Sale continues as EVUA Services Director and Colin Mackenzie will continue to run the Mobility group. Meredith Rose and David Walker are the EVUA’s Chairman and Deputy Chairman respectively.
The EVUA was formed in 1992 and is the leading global service development forum for global ICT users and suppliers. The EVUA has strong independent industry partners and links with other (national) user groups. The EVUA enables members to both influence and gain knowledge of the latest technology and service developments in the ICT world. Members of the EVUA share their experiences and gain tactical information to make better strategic and operational decisions. Services to members are provided in partnership with Ovum, a leading global research and consultancy group owned by Datamonitor, itself part of the £1 billion revenue Informa publishing group. Ovum provides consulting, service reviews and surveys for user members and supplier partners. Ovum also supports other EVUA activities including conferences and workshops.
