Isola Asia Pacific (Taiwan) Inc. Certified to ISO 50001 Energy Management Standard

CHANDLER, Ariz., January 13, 2015 — Isola Group S.à r.l., a market leader in copper-clad laminates and dielectric prepreg materials used to fabricate advanced multilayer Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), announced today that its subsidiary, Isola Asia Pacific (Taiwan) Inc. has received ISO 50001:2011 certification by SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. This certification recognizes that the company has integrated energy management into its overall efforts to improve quality and environmental management at its manufacturing facilities located in Yangmei and Taoyuan, Taiwan. This recognition follows Isola’s recent announcement regarding its Taoyuan facility achieving the Green Factory Label from Taiwan’s Industry Development Bureau (IDB) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs that recognized Taoyuan as the first “green” copper-clad laminate (CCL) factory in the country.

ISO 50001:2011 is based on a model of continual advances to integrate energy management into an organization’s overall efforts to improve quality and environmental management. This international standard encourages the establishment of systems and processes to improve energy efficiency by reducing energy consumption and the emission of greenhouse gases that adversely impact the environment.

Isola Taiwan developed and implemented energy policies that established goals, objectives and action plans that are consistent with the requirements for an energy management system (EnMS) outlined in ISO 50001. EnMS considers local legal requirements and requires documentation of data on significant energy usage. The EnMS standard provided a framework for Isola-Taiwan to develop policies and procedures to improve its efficient use of energy and to demonstrate its conformity to this international standard.

Matt LaRont, President of Isola Asia stated, “Implementing the continual improvement framework in ISO 50001 has helped our team incorporate energy management into our everyday operational practices to not only improve our energy performance and reduce costs, but also to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations .”
