Tekmos unveils High Density Quad Balun Panel
HITCHIN, UK – 8 April 2010: Tekmos today announced a range of balun panels that offer a dramatic increase in E class link density. The company’s Quad Coax Balun Panel range is the result of close co-operation with network equipment vendors and Telcos.
The Quad Coax Balun Panels mark Tekmos’ first release of a new generation of panels designed to significantly reduce ICT infrastructure costs. The panels make better use of twisted pair cabled networks and reduce installation costs by consolidating two E1/E2 class links onto a single RJ45 twisted pair interface. “Our new Quad Coax Balun Panel range signals our intention to provide solutions to match the increased link densities being offered by network equipment vendors”, stated Ernie Hood, MD, Tekmos Communications.
The 1U high 19″ rack mount panels convert 32 coax connections (75 ohm) into 8 RJ45 twisted pair (120 ohm) connections for a total capacity of sixteen E1/E2 class links. Compliant with ITU-T G703 the panels support data rates up to 8.192 Mbps.
Available now, the panels can be supplied with BNC or 1.6/5.6 coax connectors.
