Fi Istanbul 2015 returns with 41% more exhibitors than its inaugural show in 2013

April 2015, Istanbul: Fi Istanbul will return to the Turkish capital for its third edition on 13-15 May 2015, bringing together over 4,500 of the food industry’s key leaders, for three days, under one roof. After outgrowing the previous venue, Fi Istanbul 2015 will take place at the ICC Istanbul with a 47% increase in exhibitors versus the show’s inauguration in 2013. It will provide attendees with more ingredients, more networking, the latest industry trends and high-level keynote sessions. With a key focus on business development, innovation and trade, in a region with one of the fastest economic growth rates in the world, Fi Istanbul is the most cost-effective platform to source new ingredients, grow market share and act as a stepping stone to this vastly untouched food industry.

Turkey has a long standing history in trading and agriculture, and remains the most important trading hub between Asia, Europe, The Middle East and North Africa. It is a major agricultural producer with an increasingly positive processed food and beverage industry, offering easy access to raw materials. The food and beverage sector, is largely dependent on the agricultural sector and has an important share in the country’s GDP. Similarly, the food industry in the surrounding region (Southern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa), also offers a strong potential for growth in processed food products, due to a high average population growth (2%), an increasing affluent youth population, a large expatriate community in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, an increase of income per capita, and an increasing consumer expenditure on food. Furthermore, food companies also find several attractive elements in this region including a projected annual GDP growth of 5% from 2010 to 2015, a marked rise in consumer confidence, and favourable age and income demographics.

Natasha Berrow, Group Director, Food ingredients Global adds: “The feedback from the exhibitors and visitors from the previous editions has been remarkable. The food ingredients industry in the region is growing exponentially, which can be seen evidently by the growth of the show. We are excited to be moving to an even bigger venue to accommodate the growing number of exhibitors and we are confident the show will help shape the way ingredients are sourced in this market. Fi Istanbul is the perfect platform to develop strategic partnerships in the region, as well as an opportunity to learn about the latest trends and innovations through its conferences and educational sessions.

2015 marks the third edition of Fi Istanbul with over 4,500 expected attendees and 150+ leading exhibitors including Chr. Hansen, Halal Certification Services, Sel Jel, Synthite, Omya, Prinova, Altinmarka, Aromsa, plus many more. Some of the product offerings from exhibitors include: dry vitamin blends, flavours, natural extracts, carob extract, colorants, minerals, pigments, gelatines, collagen, enzymes, probiotics, natural colors, calcium and many more. The exhibition will run for three days from the 13-15 May 2015 and is the most important food ingredients sourcing platform in this highly dynamic region that bridges Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
