National Taiwan University (NTU) in global top 20 for new QS rankings
London, 29th April 2015: With the addition of six new subjects, the strength of Taiwanese higher education specializations highlighted amongst 36 disciplines ranked for QS World University Rankings by Subject, published today at www.topuniversities.com.
National Taiwan University (NTU) remains the country’s best-performing institution, making the top 20 in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (15th), while placing in the top 50 for: Physics & Astronomy; Pharmacy & Pharmacology; Modern Languages; Materials Science; Medicine; Linguistics; Law; History; Engineering – Civil & Structural; Engineering – Electrical & Electronic; Engineering – Chemical; Earth & Marine Sciences; Development Studies; Dentistry; Computer Science & Information Systems; Chemistry; Art & Design.
Two other Taiwanese universities are listed in the top 50: National Tsing Hua University for Linguistics; Electrical & Electronic Engineering; Chemical Engineering and National Taiwan Normal University for Education.
Overall, on top of the universities mentioned above, four more Taiwanese universities ranks in the top 100, including National Cheng Kung University, National Chengchi University, National Chiao Tung University and National Taiwan University of Science and Technology.
Taiwanese universities display increased international competitiveness with a strong presence across the subjects.
