UK TECH START-UP UNVEILS FUTURISTIC PHONE LINE THAT SAVES BUSINESSES THOUSANDS OF POUNDS

The UK telecoms tech start-up company, buzzbox, just launched a handset that gives businesses virtually free phone calls from anywhere in the world. ‘buzzbox Baby’ is an all-in-one business telephone that simply plugs into any broadband connection; installs in seconds and gives businesses industry leading call rates – all for five pounds a month.

Every ‘buzzbox Baby’ handset comes with a dedicated phone number so users can start making and receiving calls right out of the box. The device uses voice over IP technology and includes a host of professional features such as voicemail, call waiting, three-way calls and many more.

This innovative device is not just about making phone calls, it is also about improving work-life balance as it can be plugged into any internet router and therefore used from any place with an internet connection. It can also improve staff productivity by allowing them to work from home.

“The land-line has been stuck in the dark ages for years. By marrying the internet with your desk phone, you’re opening up a world of possibilities that drags Alexander Bell’s invention well into the 21st century”, says buzzbox founder and director, Stuart Spice.

“The invention is ideal for small businesses or individuals who need to be able to work from anywhere in the world and who would like to cut costs dramatically”, he continues.

Research suggests that more and more employers offer teleworking options to their staff. Up to 59% of employers were offering teleworking in 2011, compared to 13% in 2006* “With such a radical shift in employment policy, it is important to be prepared with technology that can match this increasing trend.” Stuart says.

The rapid adoption of teleworking, however, does not have to mean extra expense: buzzbox customers have reported savings of over 75% on their phone bills because dialling remote staff on their extension number does not cost a penny, regardless of their physical location and international calls only cost a few pence.

buzzbox is already being used by companies with remote staff in South America, India and Europe as well as teleworkers and branch offices based in the UK.
