7signal and Fujitsu Services Oy offer WLAN quality assurance as a service
Helsinki, Finland – 19th May, 2009 – 7signal, a pioneer in wireless quality measurement and monitoring solutions, has partnered with Fujitsu in Finland to include WLAN quality assurance as part of Fujitsu’s Peitto service. The management and quality assurance of wireless networks is based on 7signal’s Sapphire Wireless Quality Assurance (WQA) system.
“With 7signal’s technology, we can now guarantee quality levels set forth in our customer WLAN service level agreements. The real-time data provided by Sapphire enables administrators to spot problems in the network early enough to locate and fix them before there is an adverse effect on application performance,” comments Mikko Elo, Solutions Manager for Fujitsu.
7signal Sapphire is the world’s first end-to-end quality monitoring and management solution for WLAN networks. Sapphire enables service level agreements (SLA) to be implemented in business critical-wireless services over WLANs.
The utilisation of WLAN technology for business purposes increase efficiency and agility, but also vulnerability. 7signal provides the tools to confidently deploy WLAN technology in business-critical applications within industries such as warehouse logistics, industrial production and retail.
“The use of WLANs as a platform for business-critical applications requires complete visibility over the network. Providing quality assurance for wireless networks as a service guarantees the ongoing maintenance needed for reliable wireless networks. Businesses will not deploy the technology if they cannot see it as a reliable solution. For example, Voice over WLAN technology will only become popular when the quality of WLAN networks is on a par with landline and mobile networks,” comments Miika Salo, VP of marketing and sales for 7signal.
Fujitsu’s Peitto service provides managed, safe and flexible wireless network solutions for business purposes. With Peitto businesses can utilise wireless networks for their intranet, extranet or Voice over WLAN applications. Peitto service is based on Cisco’s WLAN technology.
With Sapphire, wireless networks can be built to meet the needs of end-users and not only to comply with security and regulatory requirements. This ensures seamless integration of wireless networks into overall IT services.
