CNS Receives SOC 2 Certification

Islandia, NY — Jul 12, 2012 / (http://www.myprgenie.com) — After several months of intense testing and analysis, Computer Network Solutions (CNS) today announced its successful completion of the Service Organization Control (SOC) Type 2, in accordance with the Statements on Standards for Attestation Engagements No. 101 and Service Organization Control (SOC 2) established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), internationally recognized as one of the strictest auditing standards available for service companies.

“SOC 2 provides what was missing in the SAS 70 and SSAE 16 — a standard benchmark by which two data center audit reports can be compared and the reader can be assured that the same set of criteria was used to evaluate each. SOC 2 certification typifies CNS’s approach to deliver on our goal of being the partner of choice for our clients,” said Alan Cook, President of CNS. “Certifications such as these demonstrate our commitment to create and maintain the rigorous controls needed to ensure the highest standards of quality and security of services.”

The internationally recognized auditing statement issued by the Auditing Standards Board of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), SOC 2 is intended to meet the needs of a broad range of users that need to understand internal control at a service organization as it relates to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy.

SOC 2 certification acknowledges CNS as an organization that delivers secure, reliable, and effective operating environments featuring the appropriate controls for conducting IT operations. Keeping to SOC 2 compliance demonstrates to current and prospective customers that CNS has been carefully reviewed and found to have surpassed the industry-accepted controls and safeguards for hosting, monitoring, or processing information belonging to customers.

Conducted by independent auditor, eDelta CPA Services, the SOC 2 audit consisted of comprehensive reviews and tests of operational procedures and controls at CNS, including comprehensive reviews and tests of infrastructure – including power, physical and network security, backup and recovery procedures, maintenance procedures, infrastructure change management, environmental safeguards, communications, management and user controls.

Our clients can be assured that the operational processes and controls at CNS meet high standards for the security and reliability of the systems we manage. We are proud of this accomplishment because it reinforces our commitment to delivering the best quality business and information security practices to our customers.
